Wolfie's Review of V4
This is a side by side look at differences to the mesh (and UV) between V3 and the new V4. Artists are going to have to change to adapt to the new figure.

Poser What's it Use?
No, thats not a question, its the app! Many of you may have read that I was busy sorting all my new and ancient downloads (3.9g and counting). I decided to put another level of organization to the tree. I have a figures folder and wanted to add sub folders under it and sort the files into what base figure it used (ie P4NudeWoman, V1, V3, PT etc). In many cases the readme didn't say so I was opening up CR2's and other poser file types in notepad looking to see what meshes they reference. I got tired of this quickly and wrote a little app to do this. And it has made the sorting process so much easier and faster.
It won't read compressed files (CZ2 for example) but it reads nearly everything else poser. I have tested it on both mac and pc files as well as files dating back to poser3 and the new MAT/INJ pose files too.
6/14/2005 - New version 1.0.2 that includes a clipboard copy feature

Wolfie's Eye Making Kit
This is just a hoot to play with! I am supplying a PSD file (creaded in PSP) with 14 layers to tweek and play with. External to the main PSD, are additional files for masks and even two Bryce scene files for creating textures to work with for the iris and whole eyeball. With everything spit apart in layers you can easily alter the iris and load new textures/bryce renders into that layer. The PSD has 3 different layers for tweeking/multicoloring the iris. It also has 4 layers for glow and reflections. Veins are on a seperate layer from the eyeball so its easy to create new ones or turn them off completely. I have not loaded this in Photoshop but it should work. The file was created using PSP7 and saved as a PSD so I know it will work in PSP at least. The Bryce files were made using Bryce 5.5 but should load in Bryce 5.0 as well. Use the Iris.br5 file to render new iris colors/textures. Then save the image out and use the IrisMask.bmp file as a mask to cut it out for use on the iris layer of the PSD file. In bryce, don't change the render size or the mask won't match and it won't line up with the rest of the layer in the PSD. Also, render using the TOP DOWN view (press the number 2). YOu can switch to director view to work the scene but make sure you don't move anything and then switch back to TOP to render. The scene file will load with the iris torus selected so all you should have to do is hit the material lab and play. Requires some image application capable of reading PSD files (PSP or PS for example). You will also need Bryce 5.0 or later to make use of the Bryce content. The Bryce content is optional, you can hand paint the irises if you don't have Bryce.

Poser Loader
Please read the readme.txt carefully.
This program is designed to install files into poser that were downloaded or manually copied and are in a single directory. In the past, people tended to simply copy all files for a character, pose, or prop into a single directory, add a text file telling you where to put them back to and ZIP it. Some more recent posts seem to have directory structures inside the ZIPs which helps the newbee emmencely. Unfortunately, not everyone is following this sensable practice. Thats where this program comes in. It will open a CR2, PZ2, PP2, HR2 or PZ3 file, analyze its contents, find out where it expects things and copies them there. Its main purpose is to get characters INTO poser and in the correct directories. It uses a "wizard" like proceedure to gather information and import the files so it should be pretty painless for those of you not familiar with Poser's directory structure.

Poser Extractor
Please read the readme.txt carefully.
This program is designed to gather all files (OBJs, Textures, etc) referenced from a Character, Pose, Prop or Hair file and copy them to a directory with or without the directory structure. Its main purpose is to get characters OUT of poser in a form that makes it easy to ZIP and post or transfer. It currently only supports CR2, PZ2, PP2 and HR2 files.. It uses a "wizard" like proceedure to gather information and export the files so it should be pretty painless for those of you not familiar with Poser's directory structure. Readme text file here.
